All of Sport in Mind’s groups are relaxed drop-in sessions where you can take part for as little or as long as you like.
Sport in Mind ® is an independent Berkshire mental health charity founded in 2011 by Neil Harris, Timothy Waters and Tony Young to provide people experiencing mental health problems with the opportunity to play sport and physical activity in a supported environment.
Our aim is to use sport and physical activity to promote mental well-being, help aid recovery, improve physical health, encourage social inclusion and empower people experiencing mental health problems to build a positive future for themselves.
We are an experienced deliverer and advisor of supported sport and physical activity sessions for people experiencing mental health conditions (in the community and inpatients in hospital). To date we have delivered in excess of 3,000 sport and physical activity sessions, and engaged over 4,000 people. We have a close working relationship with Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and act as their lead physical activity provider.
